Orion Equestrian is operated by Kimberly Barber; a versatile equestrian dedicated to building the bond between rider and horse. Orion Equestrian is named for Kimberly's favorite memories of riding at night when she was  younger as the Orion constellation filled the summer sky. It was these idyllic rides that helped develop the foundation for Kimberly's riding philosophies and her passion for the sport.  See more below...

Kimberly believes in the potential every horse and rider possesses.  She focuses on the development of a correct foundation in the rider's position and technique in order to work in better harmony with the horse. She believes horses are partners, not machines. Kimberly uses her classical dressage background to train horses and clients to work together while building strength and fitness necessary to be a top competitor. Her approach follows the teachings of the training pyramid infused with modern approaches which focus on the rider's effect on the horse's way of going as they develop in their training. Kimberly works independently with her clients to develop a personalized training plan appropriate to their goals. She strives to keep her horses and riders safe and acknowledges the dangers involved in this sport and encourages good horsemanship and horse management practices.
